We are always busy behind the scenes at U-Roast but we love attending events so that we can get to meet people who want to try our freshly roasted coffee.
We headed to Edinburgh last week to demonstrate coffee roasting to students and staff at Edinburgh College. We are delighted that U-Roast is now available in the Education sector as well, giving students and staff alike the chance to reduce their food miles, reduce packaging and the unique opportunity to serve freshly roasted coffee. This week we head back into the capital to attend the Edinburgh Coffee Festival.
Edinburgh College Event
Last week, we launched U-Roast with Coffee Conscience in the Sighthill Atrium at Edinburgh College. This was a fantastic event where we demonstrated the coffee roasting process to students and staff. This is very exciting as Edinburgh college is the first higher education campus in Scotland to roast their own coffee.
Caroline Bacigalupo, General Catering Manager at Edinburgh College, said: “We are delighted to be the first educational establishment to introduce the U-Roast. We hope that the U-Roast will allow us to create a better understanding of coffee knowledge within Edinburgh College as well as allow our professional cookery and hospitality students something unique to learn in their journey and the College.”
Everyone that attended got to taste different types of coffee and sample an espresso martini made with freshly roasted coffee, accompanied by delicious chocolates made by the catering team and students. It was a fantastic evening and we look forward to Edinburgh college serving freshly roasted coffee daily. Find out more about this event on Edinburgh College’s blog.
Edinburgh Coffee Festival
This week we are back in the capital as we are exhibiting at the Edinburgh Coffee Festival at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. We will be showcasing our micro-roasters alongside some other incredible stall holders including Frank Green and Coffee Clothing Collective to name a few. You can find a full list of exhibitors and events on the Edinburgh Coffee Festival website.
The festival will include demonstrations, talks and tastings along with the chance to talk to a range of different suppliers. It is set to be a very informative day for everyone, from those starting their coffee journey to those who have been in the trade for years. Find us at stand number 21 on the day.
Tickets for this event still can be bought online here. We look forward to seeing you on the day!
We will be heading down to Manchester for The Italian Awards this Sunday as well where we will be sponsoring the ‘Best Deli/Café’ category. The Italian Awards is always a great event and we want to wish all the finalists the best of luck on the night.
